Since I was a teenager enrolled in a high school history class – one patriotic quote has always remained with me and made a great deal of sense.
UNITED WE STAND – DIVIDED WE FALL!
Patrick Henry was the first American to use this phrase in 1799 when some fellow countrymen were coming out in favor of states’ rights over federal authority. His actual quote was: “United we stand, Divided we fall. Let us not split into factions –which will destroy that union upon which
our existence hangs.”
More than ever – our nation is divided! This past election offers not only proof of the ‘split’ among Americans — but the HATE which emanates from this division! I, for one, am highly motivated to seek solutions to heal this fierce split in our country – which is filled with extreme animosity on both sides!
I truly believe that even though we – as Americans – may not see eye to eye on certain issues — through an expanded understanding — can ‘respectfully’ live with each other – Face to Face! Yes, we can agree to disagree – and continue to remain friends!
“I NEVER MET A MAN – I DIDN’T LIKE”

Way, way back on November 6, 1926 – a fellow by the name of Will Rogers — made his famous quote: “I never met a man I didn’t like!” During his lifetime, Will Rogers was the single most popular and beloved man in America. The reason Will was so admired is that regardless of their behavior — he was able to find to ‘GOOD’ in every person he met! Perhaps – it may be time to return to those Good Ole Days – when friends could disagree and still be friends. Regardless of how contrasting our differences may be – whether it’s gazing into the eyes of an adorable baby, or sharing a beautiful sunset, we can always find something in common!
